Payal Shah, OD

Photo of Dr. Payal ShahI have been practicing primary care optometry since 2000. My passion is learning about my patient’s life journeys so I can best enhance their vision health needs.

Born in India, I arrived in the Chicago area at the of age 3 and enjoyed growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our family has lived in Wisconsin since 2003.

I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1996 with a bachelor’s in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. My interests led me to pursue a doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry and I graduated in 2000. I enjoyed being an assistant teacher’s aide, volunteering at school vision screenings, being an aid to research for professors as well as my two Veterans Administration Hospital externships during optometry school.

Presently I am volunteering as a hospital board member, volunteering with our local schools and other community events. Sports, music, and reading are some of my favorite pastimes. I love spending time with family and friends.
