Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Lake Country Eye Care a proud provider of vision care products and services in Hartland and Sussex.


Amber A. Dentz, OD

I have been practicing optometry in the Lake Country area since I graduated from Optometry School in 2001. I grew up in East Troy, WI and then attended The University of Wisconsin-Madison and received my BS in 1996. GO BADGERS!!! I Lived in Portland, OR for a year where I worked for an optometrist and explored up and down the west coast! I attended Optometry School at Indiana University-Bloomington where I was chosen to be an assistant instructor for a number of classes and received awards in academics and contact lens expertise.

I am a proud member of the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association. I have served on the Wisconsin Optometric Association Board of Directors since 2009, including a year as WOA President in 2020. In 2010 I was extremely honored to receive the WOA Young Optometrist of the Year award from my peers! I enjoy volunteer work, so I participate in a program that performs vision screenings at Special Olympics events, in addition, I frequently lead local vision screening programs. I also love to volunteer at my children’s schools in Hartland and sponsor numerous programs there as well.

I live in Hartland with my husband, Aaron; two children, Lauren and Brody; and two dogs. I enjoy golf, downhill skiing, and yoga. I enjoy traveling and I especially love spending time with my wonderful family and friends!


Andrew Baldus, OD

Dr. Baldus is a native of Brookfield, WI. His undergraduate degree from UW-Eau Claire was a BS in Chemistry. After graduating from the Michigan College of Optometry in 1995, Dr. Baldus completed an optometric residency in ocular pathology at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI. Andy practiced in Colby, WI for 15 years prior to relocating to southeastern Wisconsin in 2016.

Andy appreciates the wonderful simplicity and complexity of our visual system. He stresses the importance of routine preventative eye care. His interests include the ocular manifestations of systemic disease. In his spare time, Andy enjoys adventures with his family (wife Pam, and Jackson, Sam, Ray, Charlie and Caroline). His hobbies include biking, hiking, skiing and travel.


Bartlomiej Celer, OD

Dr. Celer is an Illinois native who received his undergraduate degree from Augustana College in 2017. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. His interests include primary eye care, dry eye management, pre- and post-operative care, and glaucoma.

Dr. Celer is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association. He values providing quality patient care and building relationships with his patients. In his free time, Dr. Celer enjoys hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and trying new brunch spots.

Christopher Winter, OD

Dr. Winter grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and later attended UW-Eau Claire. He earned his Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Visual Science degrees at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr Winter opened his practice in Sussex in October of 1979, and has proudly served the community and surrounding area since then.

Dr. Winter enjoys practicing family vision care. His interests include managing the special needs of diabetic patients and the treatment and management of glaucoma. His current interests include running and playing men’s senior hardball, both of which he has done for many years. Dr. Winter also enjoys traveling, as well as spending time with his wife Rebecca, his family, and friends.


Dr. Ashlee Finnell

Ashlee Finnell, OD

Dr. Finnell is a native of Howards Grove, WI were her family optometrist inspired her interest in optometry.

She studied biology and Spanish at UW-La Crosse while she also worked as a vision therapist. Her childhood dream of being an optometrist was fulfilled in 2018 after graduating from Pennsylvania College of Optometry with clinical honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Finnell provided care at a highly medical practice in South Carolina after doing externships in the Carolinas, but moved back to her home state after meeting the love of her life and to be closer to family. She’s been practicing around the lake country area since the the end of 2019.

Ashlee enjoys forming a good doctor/patient relationship and listening to each individual’s needs to give personalized care. Her interests include ocular disease, myopia management, and contacts. Outside of optometry, she loves cycling, being on the water, live music, being outdoors and making memories with family (husband Taylor; two kids Lennon and Finn; and pup George) and friends.
